We are very excited for Jason Deary's upcoming opening here at The Gallery. He has dedicated the past few months towards composing a body of brand new paintings. Deary has also created two different limited edition silkscreen prints that will be available on opening night. This is what Deary has to say about his upcoming exhibit, No Place Like:
Jason Deary is a Windsor, Ontario painter currently residing in Banff. After living in five places in the last year, his new body of work reflects the idea of ‘home’. Is it your birthplace, place where you have a job, place where a certain person is or even a specific moment in time. Through travel, discovery and adventure this personal series explores what exactly ‘home’ can mean. The work, in style and execution, is equal, illustrative drawings, graffiti and contemporary abstract. Architecture, twisted landscapes, cartography and portraits are all present in bright, bold, colorful line work put down with spray paint, acrylics, house paint, inks and drawing materials.
